Born February 17th, 1972 in Downers Grove, Illinois,
Denise Richards has quickly propelled herself to sex symbol status within the
film community. Her career though didn't start out with success. Richards did
attempt modeling initially only to be rejected due to her vertically challenged
height of 5'6". Acting though brought much more success. She also found
romantic success at the same time, as her 1990 move brought her together with
longtime love interest Patrick Muldoon. The two of them had lived together in
Los Angeles for several years, but recently the two have split, according to
gossip maven Ted Casablanca.
Richards move towards acting began with her role on the television drama Life
Goes On. From there, Richards appeared as a guest in shows such as Melrose Place,
Married With Children, and Seinfeld. It was the airing on the popular Seinfeld
series that gained Richards the popularity that landed her into movies. In the
Seinfeld episode, Denise played the 15 year-old daughter of a TV executive,
whom George and Jerry got caught looking down my blouse and almost lost their
TV deal with NBC because of it.. Then in 1994, Richards was cast in Tammy and
the T-Rex, which was followed by her roll in the television movie Fifth Avenue.
Richards in 1997 landed parts in Nowhere and the popular Starship Troopers.
Wild Things was her next movie project in 1998, and perhaps featured one of the tantilizing love scenes that included herself, Matt Dillon, and Neve Campbell. The threesome featured Denise nude, though Denise wasn't so thrilled to be featured nude, as she told Gear Magazine, "I had such anxiety about those scenes and I know that, watching it, people are probably thinking, ‘Oh it’s not a big deal, she wasn’t like, completely naked.’ But for me it was a big deal because they were my breasts and there was a shot of my rear end." In 1999, Richards then played in the appropriately titled Drop Dead Gorgeous.
Denise has complained that ever since that film most of the
scripts she gets involve lesbian love scenes or group sex scenes. And most recently,
she's played opposite Pierce Brosnan in the 007 film, The World Is Not Enough.
In the James Bond flick, Richards plays Christmas Jones, a nuclear physicist.
Unfortunately for Denise, the film was panned by critics and landed her the
Worst Supporting Actress award in this year's Razzies. For future projects,
Richards is teaming with Ben Affleck and Matt Damon in The Third Wheel. Denise
also just signed up for a movie in which she will star opposite Charlie Sheen
in the romantic comedy Good Advice. in addition to a role opposite David Boreanaz
in Warner Bros.' Valentine. Hopefully Denise can get better reviews in her upcoming
roles, her career may depend on it.
