Jen was born in the Bronx, New York and knew at a young age she wanted to be
in show business.
Jennifer Lopez got her big break in '91 when she was cast as a "Fly Girl" dancer on the TV show In Living Color. In 1995 she did two movies, Mi Familia and Money Train, but it was '97's Selena that made her a star. Jennifer Lopez's Latino heritage made her perfect for the part and directors began to take notice of her acting ability. The story was a biography about Latino singing sensation Selena who was murdered by a crazed fan. Jennifer Lopez has since appeared in Anaconda, Blood and Wine, U-Turn and Out of Sight with George Clooney.
Aside from big-screen success Jennifer Lopez is also enjoying a successful singing career. In 1999 she released her first album On the 6 named after the subway train that links Manhattan and the Bronx. The album was a great success with the help of chart-toppers like If You Had My Love, Waiting For Tonight, No Me Ames with Marc Anthony and Feelin' So Good. Jennifer Lopez is just as well known for her flashy, elaborate videos as she is for making a fashion statement. Jennifer Lopez is constantly ridiculed about the size of her butt by the likes of comedian Chris Rock and others, but seems to take it with a grain of salt. However her butt isn't the only thing attracting attention - her past involvement with P. Diddy (Sean Combs, previously known as Puff Daddy or Puffy) also caused a mega media buzz and still receives attention.
In 2000 Jennifer Lopez starred in the sci-fi movie The Cell which got mixed reviews. Her latest CD is J.Lo. The first single from the CD, Love Don't Cost A Thing has seen a ton airtime on both radio and television.
